I love this film so much that I had to watch it again this evening. The story is so sad, yet so beautiful.
Beautiful people.
Beautiful story.
Beautiful message.
I ask myself from time to time if this procedure of ‘erasing’ from your mind some of the people you want to forget is something I’d apply to myself. Maybe. But then again, it’s strange how the most powerful feelings humans experience are the negative ones. I don’t know if losing that part can make us happier. It can make us regretless and ordinary.
Probably it can make things easier as well, but just for a short period of time. If the process is like the one in this movie, the conclusion is clear: some people are destined to meet, no matter if they choose to be together or not.
How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray’r accepted, and each wish resign’d…
What would you do if you could have your memories erased?
